Running should feel like play, never punishment.
Coach Nick, an RRCA Certified Running Coach, Boston Marathon qualifier, and dad of two, started Keller Kids Run Club with one goal: to see the kids in our Keller community fall in love with running. He also wanted to give parents another option: it's not another club sport, there’s no hidden fees, and no out-of-town commitments. It's just a simple, local way for kids to get outside, build healthy habits, and grow in their confidence. Games, new friends, and small wins every week add up to a skill that lasts a lifetime. Sign up now to help your young runner discover the JOY of running!

Frequently Asked questions
-
In the event of severe weather (lightning, heavy storms, extreme heat advisories), practice will be cancelled or modified. Families will be notified as early as possible by email and text.
-
That's completely normal and expected! Our coaching philosophy is built on run/walk intervals, especially for younger runners. The goal is building confidence and consistency, not speed. Walking is part of the plan, not a setback.
-
Not at all. KKRC is designed for kids of all experience levels, from complete beginners to kids who already love to run. Every session meets your child where they are.
-
Life happens! While we don't have formal makeup sessions, missing a week won't set your child back. We build in review and repetition each week, so they'll jump right back in.
-
Comfortable running shoes (no sandals or crocs), a water bottle, sunscreen if needed, and a great attitude ready to have fun!
-
Yes! Many of our runners start out shy or unsure of themselves. We focus on building confidence at every kid's own pace, and our small-group coaching style makes it easy for every child to feel included and supported.
-
Registration fees are non-refundable after the season begins, but we're happy to discuss special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to Coach Nick directly with any concerns.
-
Our season wraps up with a free community 5K park run at Keller Pointe, near the dog park. It's a real, timed 5K with official results, not just a fun run. Every KKRC participant receives a finisher medal for completing the race. The Little Runners will have a 1 mile option.
-
Yes, race day is a fully timed 5K with official results provided after the race. You need to be registered with your barcode in order to get results.
-
Absolutely! We'd love to have family there to cheer on our runners. Parents are welcome to run alongside younger kids / Race day is for registered runners which also goes for parents. The children would love to have you cheering for them at the finish!
Our first season
We had so much fun during our inaugural season of Keller Kids Run Club. 25 new runners came out, gave their best, and learned a few lessons along the way!
